So….the Leviton Renu Challenge is a wrap…kind of. The ‘After’ photos were supposed to be submitted this past Sunday for judging. I did submit photos. However, they aren’t exactly ‘Afters’. They’re more like ‘Progress’ photos.
What had happened was…there are a few loose ends that still need to be tied up and I just couldn’t seem to make it happen by the deadline. Unfortunately, one unforeseen thing happened after the next. We had to scrap the dresser I had planned for the space because of size issues that arose after I realized the entire layout would need to be changed. And when did I realize this, you may be wondering? On Friday just before I needed the room to be finished for the ‘After’ photos. To say I was bummed would be an understatement. We were able to make some progress in the room, but since the layout has changed, many other things have changed in the plan. So, I had to submit ‘In Progress’ photos. Maybe I’ll win, maybe I won’t – what if no one was able to complete their rooms by the deadline???? No matter the outcome, I’ve definitely learned a lot about getting things in place early enough to prevent any surprises from ruining the big reveal.
We’re still working on the room. Since a lot is getting revamped, I decided to add some artwork and other cool features. I’m even thinking about changing the color of the desk. These things were not in the original plan, but I think they’ll really help the room and give it a more styled & finished appearance.
